Hazel B. Summers Farley, 66, of 5180 Macedonia Church Road, Vale, died Saturday Oct. 24, 2015, at Baptist Hospital. Born June 3, in Iredell County she was the daughter of the late Zollie W. and Minnie Odessa Garner Summers. She was associated with the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. She was a retired textile worker and school custodian at Mill Creek Elementary School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Willie Richard Farley, daughter Cameron Evon Farley, brothers William Summers Jr., Jessie Summers, George Phifer, James Summers, two sisters Mary Helton and Eva Mae Jones. Survivors include two sisters Sadie Christine Propst of Newton and Mildred Rankin of Statesville, NC and a best friend Nancy Propst, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends. The Memorial Service will be conducted by Elder Thomas Catchins on Friday, October 30, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on October 30, but will receive guests at the home of Sadie Christine Propst, 711 East F. Street, Newton, NC.
