

Born in Lenoir, NC, he was the son of the late Carter Hendrix and Irene Clark. He was an active member and sang in the choir of New Hope Moravian Church in Newton. Jim was proud to have served his country in the United States Army. Jim worked as a sales representative of foam and fiber products for the furniture industry and was a two-time retiree, first from Carpenter Company and later from Interstate Foam.
An avid golfer and lover of the outdoors, his priority in retirement was building treasured memories with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 24 years, Cheryl Corpening Hendrix of the home; and his sons, Brian Hendrix of Newton, Darren Hendrix of Raleigh, and Eric Yount and wife, Lynn of Taylorsville; daughters, Terri Hendrix Parrish and husband Bob of Hudson and Jennifer Hedgcoe and husband, Luke of Hickory; grandchildren, Danny Woodring, Danielle Misenheimer and husband Adam, Tiffani Parrish, Raven Yount, Kristen Parrish, Ryan Parrish, Connor Leska; great-grandchild Emma Misenheimer; his sister, Betty Frye of Hickory and his brother, Clark Hendrix and wife Thelma of San Antonio, TX.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at New Hope Moravian Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 19 2017 at 2897 Sandy Ford Rd, Newton, NC 28658 with The Rev. Betty A. Helms officiating. Burial will take place at God’s Acre cemetery at the New Hope Moravian Church following the service.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m.
