

Born November 26, 1934, in Hickory, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Christopher and Edna Little Christopher.
Martha was a graduate of Appalachian State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. She was a teacher for many years in the Newton Conover school system.
She was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover.
Martha’s greatest love was her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, spending time on the lake and at the beach. She enjoyed dancing and watching sports and she loved tending her flower garden and working in her yard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Jim” Webb; her son, Scott Edward Webb; brother, Frank Christopher; sisters, Betty C. Simmons, and Linda K. Flowers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Christie Webb Dean and husband, Steve of Charlotte; brothers, Clyde Tom “Tommy” Flowers, of Longview, Paul Monroe “Junior” Flowers, Jr., of Newton; grandchildren, McKenna James Dvorak, Samuel Kimball Webb, Anthony James “A.J.” Webb, and Maxwell Scott Webb; and her daughter-in-law, Melissa Johnson.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Sherrills Ford, with Fred Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2015 at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
