Newton: Jolene Yancey Honeycutt, 89, died Friday, November 12, at Carolina Caring Hospice House. A native of Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Joe McClure Yancey and Alma Elva Lena Yount Yancey, and was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Honeycutt was proceeded in death by her husband of over 50 years, David Lee Honeycutt and brother, Harry Carpenter. She is survived by her son, Michael Honeycutt and his wife Catherine of Hickory; daughter, Jolinda Deal and her husband James of Newton; grandchildren Patton Deal and Jonathan Honeycutt; and great grandchildren, Emma Claire Dockery and Allison Renee Dockery.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Willis Reynolds Funeral Home, Newton, with Pastor Harv Turner officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00- 1:45. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
