He had a loving family and some very wonderful and dear friends. Ted was active in the Saugus High School band where he played the saxophone and led the marching band as drum major. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corp where he proudly served for four years and also met some terrific guys, some of whom have become lifelong friends. He then went to East Coast Aerotech in Massachusetts becoming certified in aviation mechanics and followed that by working for Northeast and Delta airlines. He decided he wanted to teach students to be the best airline mechanics so he went back and taught at East Coast for the next twenty two years. Later in his career, he worked with FAA as an examiner testing students to accredit them with their mechanic's licenses. He was honored to have received several FAA Administrator's Awards for Excellence in Aviation Education. He was always a smart and wise man both in his work and with his students, friends and family. He still has students who remember him fondly as their best instructor, "they better" he would add, as they asked him for recommendations for airline employment.
Upon retiring from his aviation career, we moved to Newton, North Carolina where we met many new friends and joined a motorcycle "gang". Ted was always proud to tell
people that he had well over 500,000 safe miles riding the several motorcycles he had, especially on our Goldwing. He rode as far as Nova Scotia, down to Key West, out to Washington state and to many places in between and rode with the local Patriot Guard, honoring our deceased service men and women. We always thought we would ride off into the sunset together, but God had other plans. During his several hospital stays, Ted had some very wonderful nurses, doctors and staff from Hospice. We both wanted to thank them from our hearts, for caring for him and making his last days as painless as possible and his passing peaceful and with dignity. God bless you all.
Ted was preceded in death by his dad Wilbur; his Mom Eva; brother, Don; and sister Lorraine. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty years, Meredith and by his five children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: his daughter Susan, her daughter Stephanie and her two daughters, Aubrey and Haley, all living in Saugus, MA; his sons Jeff of Saugus, and Gary and fiancee Tara of Barnstead NH; his son Matthew White and wife Jennifer and their son Daniel and daughter Deven living in Maiden NC and his son Aaron White and partner Deanna Silva of Derry NH and Aaron's daughters Sarah and Kayla living in Hooksett, NH. Ted also had many nieces and nephews with whom he shared lots of fun times and made some great memories.
Ted's family and friends know that he is in a more peaceful place with no pain or worries, and pray that he will meet his parents, siblings and friends when he enters through the
Pearly Gates.
