Vincent “Vince” Adams, 53, of Newton passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026. Born January 25, 1973, he was the son of the late Donald Lionel Adams and Wanda Jean Stiles. Vince left this world the way he lived in it , surrounded by love, probably slightly outnumbered, and very aware that he was not in charge.
He is survived by his wife, his steady anchor and favorite person, who loved him through every chapter, the loud ones, the quiet ones, and the ones that required a little extra patience. Their love story was built on laughter, loyalty, and the kind of partnership that only deepens with time.
Vince was also the proud and permanently outvoted father of five daughters, all living in the Newton area. Raising five girls made him many things: softer than he let on, stronger than he realized, and an expert at carrying purses in public without complaint. He showed up for recitals, big talks, late-night worries, and every “Dad, can you fix this?” that ever existed. His girls were his greatest work and his proudest legacy.
He is survived by his brother, Brian of Erie, PA, who shared a lifetime of stories, history, and the kind of sibling bond that only brothers understand.
Vince was a man of steady presence. He didn’t need to be the loudest in the room, though he certainly could be when the situation called for it. He had a quiet humor, a generous heart, and a way of making people feel taken care of without ever making a fuss about it.
He loved deeply. He worked hard. He probably thought he had more time. In the end, what remains is what always mattered most: five daughters who carry his stubbornness and his softness, a wife who carries a lifetime of shared memories, and a family forever shaped by his steady love.
If you knew Vince, you likely have a story, something he said, something he fixed, something he made better just by being there. Hold onto that. Tell it often. Laugh when you can. Cry when you need to.
He would’ve preferred the laughing.
