Born April 27th, 1933 in West Haven, CT he was the son of the late Walter Burke Mulligan Sr. and Vivian Myrtle McCuen Mulligan. Walter worked for over 35 years with Southern New England Telephone; 25 years coaching West Haven Midget Football. He was a member of Western Piedmont Gem and Mineral Society and was a patron of the arts and loved the theatre. He was a veteran of four years with the National Guard.
Walter is survived by his son and daughter- in- law, Mike Mulligan and his wife Kris of Atlantic Beach; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon Schulman and husband James of East Haven, CT, Terry Wells of Stanley, NC, and Amy Standish and husband Jim of Palmetto, FL; brother, Gerald Mulligan of Jacksonville, FL; and many grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Newton. Father James Collins will officiate.
