Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Carl grew up in the Pennypack Park area and spent time in Audubon, Turnersville, Princeton Junction, and Upper Saddle River before moving to Newton 20 years ago. He was the Executive Director of Global Compliance at KPMG in Montvale, where he worked for 42 years before his retirement in 2014.
Carl was a member and Moderator of the Trustees at Baleville Congregational Christian Church. His labor of love was Quick Pond, a property he bought 34 years ago. In those years, it grew from the swamp, to a backcountry campsite, and finally to the retirement home he dreamt of, where they continue to live.
The son of the late Carl C. Leypoldt, Sr., and Muriel (nee Engiles) Leypoldt, Carl is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail B. Leypoldt and his three children, Kevin C. Leypoldt and wife, Ingrid, of Littleton, Colorado, as well as their children, Ethan and Elisabeth, Steven W. Leypoldt of Durham, North Carolina, as well as his children, Piper and Lex, and Brian C. Leypoldt and wife, Carrie, of Lafayette, Colorado. He is also survived by his brother and two sisters.
