June was born in Irvington General Hospital to the late Robert and Marion Maxton. She attended Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ and graduated in 1963. June was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Hampton Township Senior Center and an avid animal lover. June greatly enjoyed reading and was especially fond of Dean Koontz novels.
In addition to her parents, June was also predeceased by her husband, James Ackerman; and her brother, Robert Maxton, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Smith; her son, Marc Ackerman and wife, Lori; her grandsons, Shane and Reece Smith; her brother, Donald Maxton and wife, Marie; and her beloved dog, Shane.
