Larry was born in Newton on May 31, 1949 to the late Clarkson and Lillian (Sliker) Crawn. Larry was a lifelong Sussex County resident. Larry was a proud Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Newton VFW Post 5360. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority. He was a wrestling, baseball and football coach for many years for Newton and Hampton Townships. Larry was an outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing and hunting.
The beloved husband to Rita Crawn, he is also survived by his children, SgtMaj Justin Crawn and his wife, Laura, Joe Crawn and his wife, Jess and Becky Crawn and her partner Joel; his grandchildren, Cole, Tucker, Cooper, Carson and Lillian; his sister, Linda and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, his siblings, Gary, Linn, Doug and Kathy, predecease Larry.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
