Mitzi was born in Carbondale, PA to the late William and Mary (Sredenschek) Degnan. She attended Lackawanna Business College, then went on to hold several clerical positions. She was the Secretary to the Finance & Accounting Officer at Picatinny Arsenal, the Assistant to the Vice President of Pennsylvania Railroad, and worked for M&M Mars.
Mitzi was deeply devoted to her faith and the church. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd R.C. Church where she served as a eucharistic minister and lector. Mitzi was a member of the Cursillo Team, a faith building mission with the church. She loved to travel and visited England, Ireland, Israel, Italy and several other countries.
In addition to her parents, Mitzi was also predeceased by her husband, Deacon Edmund Galinski. She is survived by her children, Michael J. Galinski (Vicki), Mary Ellen Russell (Jim), and Edmund Galinski (Elizabeth); her grandchildren, Ed, Jason, Michael, Emileigh, Benjamin, Maddie, PJ and Molly; and her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Logan, Cecilia, Raymond, Abii Mae, Evangeline, and Liliana.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 48 Tranquility Rd, Andover Boro, NJ. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd R.C. Cemetery, 69 Airport Rd, Andover, NJ.
