Michelle was born on October 21, 1970 in Brooklyn, NY to late Edward and Grace (Smith) Massey. She grew up in Brooklyn before settling in Newton 31 years ago. Michelle was known for her heart of gold, she was notorious for her giving nature and her supportive influence, and she grew friendships far and wide from Australia, Hawaii and England. Michelle was a proud Girl Scout leader for troop 5688; she was also a member of the Newton Volunteer First Aid and Rescue Squad. Michelle was a “Chemo Angel” and created many mom groups for support and started the “leave a book – take a book” in town.
The beloved wife to Steven A. Franzone, Michelle is also survived by her loving daughter, Ariel Franzone; her canine companion, Tucker; her sister, Elisbeth Phillips and her brother, Edward Massey. Along with her parents, Michelle was predeceased by her son, Michael Edward Franzone.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 48 Tranquility Rd, Andover, NJ 07821.
