John and I are deeply saddened by Pete’s passing. Our condolences to Bucky, Steven, Adam and the extended family. To say Pete was a character is an understatement. On the outside he put on a tough exterior, but most knew the good-hearted man that he was. Pete was an integral part of the poultry fanciers and his knowledge of birds was beyond compare. Pete did not fool anyone as we all knew his heart was as vast as the night sky. You will be sorely missed.

Pete was a good friend who helped me kick start my interest in all sorts of poultry. He referred me to people who are still friends today. We had lost touch  several years ago, but I still think of him fondly.

I am at a loss for words.  Pete has been a big part of my and my families lives since the early 70's.  He was one of my most dearest friends.  My sadness is great but I am relieved that he is not suffering.  My thoughts go out to you all - Bucky - Steve - Adam and extended loved ones.

Maybe  when the time is better - we can get together.  i imagine Pete did not want a formal ceremony - but a meeting of friends and swapping stories will definitely be something that I would look forward to.

i miss you Pete.  We had some great times and your honestly and brilliance is a hard balance to find.  

My condolences to the Nieswand family and bucky Steve and I became good friends in highschool and I became good friends with Pete I miss going to breakfast and coon hunting and we talked a lot about dogs over the years Pete was a character to anyone who knew him but was good hearted also we did not always agree and would argue about politics and other things but always remained close I will miss him Pete was an avid hunter and loved his hounds so I say goodbye until we meet again go tree old blue Pete.
