Robert was born in Newton and raised in Augusta. He attended Newton High School and graduated in 1952. Robert had an incredible work ethic; between farming and working for the Sussex County Road Department until 1992, his dedication to hard work was unmatched. He also worked and volunteered on the grounds crew at the Sussex County Fairgrounds for many years.
Robert was a member of the Swartswood Fire Department. He appreciated the arts and was a talented woodworker and harmonica player. Robert was fascinated by Native American history and collected Native American artifacts. He chose farming as his labor of love and was an avid hunter and gardener. Robert also enjoyed sports and frequently cheered on the New York Mets and Jets.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Marshall I. and Dorothy (Losey) Price, and his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Price. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary E. Price; his children, Theresa Davis (William); Robert Marshall Price, Jr., and Diane Kieffer (Charles); his siblings, Rayna Howell, Lois Kinney, and Raymond Price; and his 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ, with a Memorial Service beginning at 5 pm.
