Alexander Mitchell Ironside

Passed away at his home in Niagara Falls on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the age of 94.

Predeceased by his wives; Alice & Doris. Forever remembered by his daughters Mina (Wayne) McGean, Kathy Ironside (Enzo), Bonnie Ironside (Darin) & grandchildren; Shaun, (Sarah), Adaire (Lenn), Katie (Jesse), Rhiannon, Mellissa, Amanda, Daisy, Dex & his great-grandchildren; Aaralynn, Tony, Niko, Ethan, Merrick, Alex, Aidan, & Paul

Also loved & missed by his siblings Frances (the late Ken) Forrest, Robert (Tess) Ironside & his nieces, nephews & cousins in Canada & Scotland. Predeceased by his parents Robert & Mina Ironside & his sister Mina (George) Smith.

Alex is originally from Arbroath Scotland and came to Canada in 1952 as a Pattern Maker Apprentice. He moved to Niagara Falls where he worked for Bissell for 30 years. He was an active community member participating in fund raising, labour council & an active participant in the landscaping of Fairhaven Seniors building.

Friends will be received at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Monday April 28th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. The funeral will take place in the chapel on Tuesday April 29th at 11:00am followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery.
