It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alicja Czerepak (née Szarek), who passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 72, with her daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Nick by her side.
Alicja was born on September 9, 1953, in Stalowa Wola, Poland. In 1983, she made the courageous and selfless decision to leave behind the life she knew and immigrate to Canada in pursuit of a better future for her daughters. Through her strength, determination, and unwavering love, she built a life centered on family, sacrifice, and opportunity for future generations.
Alicja is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Elizabeth Cicchino (Nick Cicchino) and Agnes Czerepak. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to her beloved grandsons, Giovanni and Santino, who were the greatest joy of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, and her love for them was immeasurable.
Her legacy is one of courage, sacrifice, strength, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, but the love she gave and the values she instilled will remain in their hearts forever.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and volunteers at Hospice Niagara for the exceptional care, dignity, and comfort they provided to Alicja and her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alicja’s memory to Hospice Niagara would be greatly appreciated.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
