Andy Edward Joseph MacInnis

It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved AJ, Andy Edward Joseph MacInnis, on September 7, 2026, at just 22 years old.

AJ leaves behind his parents, Colleen Mulligan, Andy MacInnis, and Dolly Davis (step); his sisters, Tia-Lynn MacInnis and Bella Davis; his grandparents, Cathy MacInnis, Eddie Bonnar, Philip and Kelly Davis (step); his uncle, Ed MacInnis; his aunt, Leanne Dayves; his cousins, Junior, Blaze, Brooklynn Barnes, and Jordan Dayves; and many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.

AJ was predeceased by his grandparents, Lois Mulligan and Edward Mulligan, and his uncle, Eddie Mulligan.

AJ loved deeply and completely. He had a heart of gold, a goofy sense of humour, and a way of making people laugh and feel seen. He was sweet, affectionate, kind, and incredibly protective of the people he loved. AJ was always willing to lend a hand and help anyone who needed him. He cared deeply about the people around him and was someone his family and friends knew they could count on.

AJ loved music, video games, Naruto and Dragon Ball Z, spending time with his friends, basketball, and baseball. He was looking forward to his next big goal of becoming a mechanic and was excited about what the future could hold.

AJ and his sister Tia-Lynn shared a bond that is almost impossible to put into words. From the time they were little, Tia was AJ’s keeper. She was always looking out for him, fiercely protective of her little brother, and ready to do anything for him. As they grew up, that bond only became stronger. They were not only brother and sister, but best friends who shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and an unconditional love that was obvious to anyone who knew them. Tia was always in AJ’s corner, and he knew he could count on her no matter what. The love they shared was truly one of a kind, and that bond will always be a part of her.

AJ was also a loving big brother to Bella, who has adored and looked up to him her entire life. He loved and protected his little sister just as fiercely, and the love between them was immeasurable. AJ also grew up alongside his cousin Junior, and “cousins” never quite described their relationship. They were raised more like brothers, sharing countless milestones, memories, laughter, and probably more than a little trouble along the way.

AJ was deeply loved by his family, his friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. His absence leaves a hole that cannot be filled, because there will never be another AJ.

Twenty-two years was nowhere near enough.

We would give anything for more laughs, more ridiculous jokes, and more ordinary days together. We will carry AJ with us through every day that comes next.

He was our son, our brother, our family, and our friend.

He was our AJ, and he will be loved forever.

Visitation will be held at Patterson Funeral Home Ltd., 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, ON., on September 18, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service to follow on September 18, 2026, at 5:00 pm.

Family and friends are invited to gather afterward for a reception with refreshments in the basement of Grand Central.

Cremation will follow, and AJ will later be laid to rest with his family in the family plot at Fairview Cemetery.
