With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Angela McClelland (née Leone), who was called home to God on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the age of 79.
Angela was born on February 7, 1947, in Niagara Falls, New York, and was raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, where she spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and the community she loved. She devoted 32 years of service to the Niagara Catholic District School Board. While she took great pride in her career, nothing brought her greater joy than her family.
Being "Grandma" to Anthony and Sofia was the role she cherished most. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them—whether celebrating milestones, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other's company. Her love for them was unconditional and immeasurable.
Angela looked forward to family gatherings, especially evenings spent playing cards, sharing stories, and filling the room with laughter. She had a warm heart, a gentle soul, and a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her love was quiet but unwavering, and she was always there with a listening ear, comforting words, or a helping hand. She taught those around her the importance of kindness, family, and putting others before yourself.
Angela leaves behind her loving daughters, Shawnene McClelland and Meaghan McClelland (Dan Ciavattone); her treasured grandchildren, Anthony and Sofia; her sister, Janice (Tony) Hagan; her niece, Karie; her nephews, Kyle and Matthew Ippolito and Jamie Sorley; and many beloved cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Elizabeth Leone, and her sister, Betty Ann (Ken) Sorley.
Although our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same, we find comfort in the countless memories she gave us and in the love she shared so freely. Her kindness, strength, and beautiful spirit will continue to guide us, and her legacy will live on through her family and everyone whose life she touched.
We loved you all of your days, and we will miss you for the rest of ours.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at Patterson Funeral Home Ltd., 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Fairview Cemetery, 4501 Stanley Ave., Niagara Falls.
