Catherine Frucci

FRUCCI, Catherine (nee Mammoliti) - At Chippawa Creek at Bella Care Residence on Sunday, September 14, 2025, Catherine Frucci of Niagara Falls at the age of 95. Beloved wife for 50 years of the late John (2001). Loving and devoted mother of Mary (the late Angelo) Mancuso, Nancy Frucci, Joann (the late Frank Mergl) Frucci-Mergl (Dan Santin), and the late Joseph Frucci (1983). Cherished grandmother of Angie (Joe) Cotroneo, John (Karlee) Mancuso, Ashley Mergl (Kyle Underhill), and the late Anthony Mancuso (2022). Great-grandmother of Mikayla, Krystina, Natalie, and Lily. Predeceased by her siblings: Michele (the late Angela) Mammoliti, Angela (the late Ignazio) Grillo, Domenic Mammoliti, and John Mammoliti. Lovingly remembered by her sisters in law Caterina Mammoliti, Ida Mammoliti, Concetta Frucci, many nieces and nephews; and her canine companion Willow.

Catherine came to Canada in 1953 and immediately went to work at Fiorentino Chicken Factory, later transitioning to St. David’s Canning Factory, taking on a second job at Carmel Elementary School and finishing her working career leading the housekeeping team at Oakes Hotel. She was the family Matriarch in every sense of the word. Her world revolved around her family and close friends. She was in her element when she was cooking for others whether it was one person or twenty; and hosting holiday meals and BBQ’s on Saturdays.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Patterson Funeral Home, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls. Vigil prayers will be shared at 3:45 pm. Family memories and eulogy will be shared at 7:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11 am at St. Thomas More Church, 6548 Dorchester Rd. Niagara Falls. Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations made to Chippawa Creek at Bella Care Residence or Niagara SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
