Returned to her Lord, peacefully, on Thursday, March 24, 2011 with her loving family by her side at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife and best friend for 53 years of Jack. Cherished mum of Shawna (Stephen) Hopkins, Garwin Cockhead and Leona (Stephen) Corr. Loving nana of Braeden, Caleb and Ashton. Doreen began her service at Lisgar Street Salvation Army (Toronto) where she taught Sunday School for 11 years. She dedicated her entire life as a soldier of the Salvation Army, completing her service to her Lord at Winterbury Heights Salvation Army (Stoney Creek).
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at HETHERINGTON & DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL; 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls, ON (905-354-5614). A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow with a private family inurnment to take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery.
