

WALLACE, Doreen Letitia (nee Swain) - Passed away peacefully at Woodlands of Sunset Long Term Care on Friday May 9, 2025 at the age of 95. Cherished wife of the late James (2011) of 44 years. Beloved mother of Doug (Sue) Hicks, Gaylene (Burke) Archibald, Michael (Karen) Wallace, Scott Wallace and the late Chuck Hicks (2012). Devoted grandmother of Ian (Alison) Jane, Sandra (Don) Martin, Tim (Amanda) Hicks, Eric (Jenn) Hicks, Krista (Greg) Phillips and Brian (Katie) Archibald. Proud great-grandmother of Audra, Deklen, Justin, Logan, Carter, Annaleigh, Jackson, Patrick, Brenden and James. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Florence (nee Emond) Swain, brother Norman(Jean) Swain and sister Dorothy (Edward) Hand. Doreen was a truly kind-hearted and selfless individual whose life was defined by service to others. As a passionate advocate for individuals with special needs and a founding member of (GNAMR) Niagara Support Services, she played a pivotal role in creating a more inclusive and compassionate world. Her generosity knew no bounds-whether she had little or lots, she always gave from the heart. As a person with an extraordinarily huge heart, she uplifted countless lives with her warmth, empathy and tireless dedication. In quieter moments, she found joy cheering on her favourite teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays, a true fan through and through. Her legacy of love, advocacy and community spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Sunday May 25, 2025 from 2 pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday May 26, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home.
