Passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2014 at GNGH with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Howard (1988) Survived by her loving children Mark Shand, Chris (Laura) Shand, Cindy (Bob)Tyson (nee Shand). Beloved grandmother to Melissa Shand, Travis Tyson, & Colleen Tyson. Also survived by her sisters; Edna Cousineau, Lola Blair, and Doris Cosby. Predeceased by her siblings George, Helen, Verne, Emma, Lorraine, Mabel, Anita & Nobel. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her extended family & many friends. In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Thursday March 13th, 2014 from 1:30-2:30 with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:30 in the Chapel and inurnment to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Donations to Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
