Dorothy Mary Olivia Martin

Passed away peacefully at her home on December 6, 2015 at the age of 94 surrounded by her loved ones. Beloved wife of 67 years of Dr. Jack Martin and mother of Louise (Mike) Stewart, Jan Craig, and Scott (Mary Ann) Martin. Cherished grandmother of Kyle (Candace) Stewart, Craig (Meg) Stewart, Lindsay Stewart, Michelle Craig and Ryan Martin and great-grandmother of Maya and Reid Stewart. Will be greatly missed by her sister Ruth McDowell and nieces and nephews.

Mom was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She graduated as a Pharmacist from the University of Toronto, and worked briefly before the birth of her three children. She was an active community volunteer, spending many hours at GNGH in the Women’s Hospital Auxiliary.

Mom was an avid golfer and curler and was always happy to have a good bridge game. She loved her Clare Crescent neighbourhood of 60 years and enjoyed bringing up her family there with husband Jack. For the last two years, the residents and staff of Lundy Manor became her new neighbours and support.

Visitation will be held at Southminster United Church, 6801 Hagar Avenue, Niagara Falls on Thursday, December 10 at 10 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. at the church.
