Edythe Hinchliffe

1937 – 2026

It is with extreme heartbreak that we announce the passing of Edith “Edie” Hinchliffe, at the age of 89.

Edie was the beloved wife of Brian Hinchliffe for 62 years. She was a cherished mother to Sandie (Dennis) Wendy (Grant) and a proud grandmother to Joshua, Mara, Garret, and Lanaya. She will be dearly missed by her cousin Barbara (Chuck) as well as by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Edie was one of the strongest people we knew. A life-altering brain aneurysm and stroke 41 years ago never that didn't change her faith in God, her wacky sense of humour, her fierce love for her family and friends, or her incredible determination.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Doctor Hu, nurses, PSWs, staff, and residents at The Meadows of Dorchester for the love, care and support they gave Edie.

A Celebration of Edie’s Life will be held at Gate Alliance Church, 6009 Valley Way, Niagara Falls, in the Abide Café, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
