Flora Maffalda Matteucci, born March 21, 1931, in Niagara Falls, passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 95. A beloved presence in the lives of many, Flora will be remembered for the steady loyalty and patience that shaped her home, and her friendships. She resided in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Flora was the loving mother of Cynthia Matteucci (John), Gina Matteucci, and the late Peter Matteucci (September 14, 2025), and a loving mother-in-law of Caroline.
Flora was a proud grandmother of Christopher and Daniel (Jaime) and their family Landon and Emerys, Christina (Peter) and their family Lilliana, Vivienne and Juliette, and Nicholas (Lierin) and their son Taron. She is also survived by her siblings Angeline (Michael), Josephine, and Rosemarie, and is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Flora was predeceased by siblings; Sammy, Viola, Mamie, Peter, James, Joey, Delores, Nicky and Frances, and her niece Loretta.
Flora’s working life reflected the same dependability she brought to everything she did. She worked as a server at the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls when it first opened in October of 1965, dedicating 32 years of service before retiring in 1996.
In her personal life, Flora found joy in simple pleasures and shared traditions. She enjoyed pottery, and learned to play tennis with her dear childhood friend Sally. She taught her grandchildren how to skate at Dufferin Island, offering time, encouragement, and the kind of patient guidance that becomes a lifelong memory. In the summers, she tended to and enjoyed the flowers in her garden creating a home shaped by care and constancy.

Visitation will take place at Patterson Funeral Home, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, ON, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 pm, and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Patterson Funeral Home in the chapel on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 1:30 pm. Rite of committal will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
