Born in Schondorf, Romania, on June 27, 1933, Frank immigrated to Niagara from Linz, Austria, in 1951. He proudly made Niagara his home and spent many years contributing to the community he loved. Frank worked for 21 years at Aberdeen Shop and later for 21 years at General Motors. A tailor by trade, he was a skilled and hardworking man who took great pride in his work.
Frank was a longtime and devoted member of the German Village, where he was involved for 75 years and also served as a board member. He was passionate about soccer, both as a player and a devoted fan. He also enjoyed swimming, dancing, playing cards, cooking and travelling.
Frank found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He spent much of his free time at home tending to his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed making homemade sausage and wine, and preparing meals for those he loved. Above all, he cherished time spent eating, drinking and sharing laughter with family and friends. For more than 30 years, Frank enjoyed his daily walks with his best friend, George—a friendship that was an important part of his life.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by his sons Robert (Kathrine) and Peter (Anita), and his daughter Anita (Gary); grandsons Joshua (Denise) and Andrew; granddaughters Morgan (Jeremy) and Ashley; and great-granddaughters Caitlyn and Emersyn.
He was predeceased by his parents, Francesca and Joseph; his brother, Valentin; his son, Frankie; his wife, Elizabeth; and his companion, Frances.
Frank will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His love of family, good food, good company, and the traditions he held dear will remain a lasting part of his memory.
