Giovanni 'John' LoStracco

LOSTRACCO, Giovanni 'John' - Passed away suddenly, with his loving family by his side, at the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday February 12, 2024 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of 55 years to Elia (nee Canzurlo). Cherished father of Tina (Paul) Devlin, Adele (Domenic) Filice and John (Donna) LoStracco. Loving and devoted nonno to Jackson and Lucas Devlin; Sabrina, Priscilla and Sandro Filice; Gianni and Alysia LoStracco. Giovanni is survived by his brother Duilio LoStracco, sisters-in-law Mafalda LoStracco and Barbara LoStracco, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Italy. He is predeceased by his parents Domenico and Adelina (nee Artista) LoStracco, siblings Augustino (Anna) LoStracco, Pierino LoStracco, Gino (Genoeffa) LoStracco, Remo (Dorothy) LoStracco, Romolo LoStracco and sister-in-law Felicetta LoStracco. Of all the things that were of great importance to Giovanni, his family was number one, he cherished them more than anything else. He spent many winters traveling south with his wife, his family and friends. He was an avid gardener, enjoying his vegetable garden and fruit trees as well as making wine. He worked for the Ontario Paper Mill for 38 years until his retirement in 2003. Giovanni was a gentle, kind-hearted, caring and generous person. He had a wonderful sense of humour and an infectious smile that would light up a room. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday February 14, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held at on Thursday February 15, 2024 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. The Rite of Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum.
