MIGNELLI, Giovanni 'John' - God has called John home to be in His Kingdom and reunited with his wife Maria (2020) of 73 years. John passed away peacefully at Queenston Place Retirement Home on Monday May 5, 2025 at the age of 96. Loving father to Nick (Tina) Mignelli, Ellen Mann, Carmen (Clara) Mignelli and Dolora (Marcello) Multari. John adored his grandchildren, Lisa (Todd) Boozan, Lora (Chris) Riddle, David (Jocelyn) Pizzi, Michael (Late Sabrina) Pizzi, Julia (Harry) Mignelli, John (Kailey) Mignelli, Robert Multari and Daniel (Kristie) Multari. John took great pride in his great grandchildren Alyssa and Emma Boozan, Gionni and Marco Pizzi, Nicholas and Ryan Riddle and the newest addition Eleanor Multari. Survived by his loving brother Attilio Mignelli, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother Luigi Mignelli, sisters-in-law Audrey (Alderina) Mignelli, Emilia Mignelli, son-in-law Paul Mann and nephew Tony Mignelli. John was born in Santa Maria del Molise, Italy. He arrived in Canada with his wife Maria in 1950. John was a hard worker; he worked several jobs, owned his own scrap and metal business and at the same time worked at Gerber baby foods as a lead foreman. John enjoyed making his own wine, sausages, canning and gardening. Most of all, he enjoyed family gatherings. His house was always open to his many friends to share a glass of wine. The fondest memories we hold dear in our hearts were the Sunday mornings 'coffee club', the many 'basement parties'; they were full of love, laughter, dancing and mom's great cooking shared with family and friends. John was a long time member of St.Thomas More Roman Catholic Church. We will never forget you dad. You were always there for us. We thank you for instilling in us your kindness, and your strong, dedicated work ethic. You were our leader and chief. You have left a big void in our hearts but find comfort in knowing you are reunited with our mom. A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Queenston Place Retirement Home. All of our dad's needs were met and you all went above and beyond. Dr. Hill, the nurses, PSW's, Paramed, Care Partners, housekeeping, administration and kitchen staff. 'Papa' loved you all! Special bonds were formed not only by our dad, but the family as well. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday May 12, 2025 at 11 am at St. Thomas More, with the Rite of Entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In memory of John, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas More Church or Project Share. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com
