It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ivo Pio Massi on June 12, 2026, at the age of 63.
Ivo leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Sheri Massi (nee Compton) and his cherished mother-in-law, Joan Compton, whom he often affectionately referred to as his favorite and only mother-in-law. He is also survived by his brothers, Mario, Flory, Leo and their families. Ivo was predeceased by his beloved parents, Oreste Massi (1994) and Antonia Massi (2008).
A dedicated employee of the Niagara Parks, Ivo retired after an incredible 42 years of service. He took great pride in his work and the many friendships he made throughout his career.
Those who knew Ivo knew that his greatest passions were his family and his dogs. He loved every dog that shared his life, past and present, but held a special place in his heart. the last few years for his little pied princess, Kashew. Since 1996, he proudly stood beside his wife in the breeding and showing of champion, Boxers and French Bulldogs, supporting her every step of the way.
Known by many as a gentle giant, Ivo will be remembered for his warm smile, friendly conversations, generous spirit, and unforgettable hugs. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome and valued.
His kindness, loyalty, and love for both people and animals will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held with a date and time to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to either the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the French Bulldog Fanciers of Canada Rescue, in Ivo’s memory.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
