St. Catharines, Ontario – Janet Kok passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by her family.
She is missed by her children, Adrian Visser (Alia), Derek Visser, and Jenny Ferrelli (Dave), and by her grandchildren, Harlow, Vienna, and Rhema.
She is survived and loved by her father, Andre Kok (Jenny, 2023).
She is also survived and treasured by her siblings, Brian (Mary), Mary-Ann Dykstra (Marty), Linda DePottie (Ron, 2023), Diana Schouls (Harvey), Anita Small (Chris), and her many nieces and nephews.
Our mother’s life was defined by her courage, her grace, and the quiet resilience she showed even on the hardest days. She met every moment with kindness and a strength that never asked to be seen but was felt by everyone around her. This was shared through her membership in and leadership of prayer chains, Bible study groups, Divorce Care, and boxing. When asked about her greatest accomplishment, she would say ‘her children,’ and when asked what she wished to be remembered for, she would say ‘her faith in God.’ She did live with Parkinson’s for ten years.
We are thankful to our family, friends, and colleagues for their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. A special thank you for your attentive care to Hospice Niagara (all the staff and volunteers) and Maple Park Lodge.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 11th, 2026, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario.
