BARLESS, Joanne Elizabeth (Phillips) Peacefully passed away June 13, 2026, at home at the age of 85. Joanne was a graduate of St. Joseph's College of Nursing and held a Bachelor of Arts from Brock University. Joanne began her career as a nurse at Greater Niagara General Hospital and retired with the Victorian Order of Nurses.
Predeceased by her parents Bernard and Josephine, sister Linda and infant son Brian. Survived by her husband Robert, her children Lori (David) Mason and Kyle (Nadia), her grandchildren Michael (Alisha), Christopher and Katrina and her siblings Carol (John d.), Nancy (Joe), Kathy (John), Bernie (Pam), Michael (Penny), Dianne (Peter) and Paul (Laura d.).
The family would like to thank the many care providers, PSW's and Nurses for the care and compassion they brought into our home. They allowed her to remain in the place she loved surrounded by comfort and familiarity.
Her smile will be missed.
A private graveside gathering will be held.
