Josefina Cadiz

Josie was a vibrant and beautiful soul whose warmth, laughter, and joyful spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a wonderful way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and at ease. Her infectious giggle, unmistakable sense of style, love for music and dancing, and zest for life made her truly unforgettable.

She found happiness in life's simple and meaningful moments—spending time with family and friends, travelling, celebrating special occasions, and creating memories filled with laughter and love. Whether enjoying a baseball game, shopping, singing along to her favourite songs, or dancing the night away, Josie embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.

Above all, Josie cherished her family. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Mario Cadiz, a loving mother to her daughters, Cherie Cadiz Haniliak (Leon Haniliak) and Suzane Cadiz (fiancé Alastair Baron), and a proud grandmother to Philippa Ekalokpiak Haniliak.

She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Raquel Palsis, Susan Palsis, Jose Palsis, Diana Perez, Lily Tandayu, Nelly Castillon, Ramon Palsis, and Shientar Briones. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Madrilejos.

Josie's love extended far beyond her immediate family. She treasured her many relatives, friends, and colleagues, and the special connections she made throughout her life. Her kindness, generosity, and loving presence will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the countless memories she created, the love she shared, and the joy she brought into the world.

Her familiar words, “It's okay,” will continue to bring comfort to those who loved her.

Visitation will be held at Patterson Funeral Home Ltd., 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, ON L2G5Z9, CA, on Sunday October 18, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Patterson Funeral Home Ltd., 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, ON L2G5Z9, CA, on Monday October 19, 2026, at 10:30 am.

Together, we will honour Josie's beautiful life, share cherished memories, and celebrate the love and laughter she brought to so many.

Mama loved a reason to dress up, enjoy a good baseball game, dance to ABBA, or soak up the joy of a Hawaiian luau. She loved colour, had a wonderful sense of style, and was never one to shy away from a little flair.

There is no dress code, and traditional attire is just as welcome. Come in whatever feels comfortable and meaningful to you. We know Mama would simply be happy to have everyone together, sharing stories, laughter, and love.
