

It is with profound sadness that the family of Lena Baldin announces her passing on August 2, 2026. Lena was the wonderful wife of the late Mario Baldin, who predeceased her in 1998. She was a devoted mother to Judy Kempston (Brad), Debbie Lapierre (Barry), Gerry Baldin (Rena), and Len Baldin (Wendy). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren John Lapierre (Jennifer), Jennifer Lucescu (Joel), Natasha Baldin, Noah Baldin, James Kempston (Jasmine), and Heather Kempston. Her life was beautifully enriched by her great grandchildren JJ., Jackson, Zelda, Payton, Carter, and Isla. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her blessings and brought her immeasurable joy.
She is survived by her sister Norma Kerr and her sisters-in-law Del Baldin, Dena Baseggio, Gina Nardangeli, and Ann Reginato. Lena was predeceased by her brother Lorenzo Reginato, and sisters Babs Baldin, Dee Cloutier, brothers-in-law Arthur Baldin, Jim Kerr, Ron Cloutier, Guido Baldin, John Baldin, Gino Baldin, and Danny Baldin. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Irma Persia.
Zia Lena will also be lovingly remembered by so many nieces, nephews, and friends. She loved spending time with her family and nobody was ever hungry when they left her house.
Lena was born in Nova Scotia in 1930 and moved to the Niagara area where she met and married Mario. Their lives centered around raising four children and spending time with family and friends. There were always back yard barbecues with beef on a bun, Sunday family picnics at Queenston and magical family Christmases. Their home was always filled with bustling activity, love, and laughter.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather at Patterson Funeral Home, 6062 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 for an informal family visitation from 11 am to 12 noon. This will be followed by a brief service in the chapel. The inurnment will take place later in the day with close family members.
