Leslie Anne Matheson

Lesley’s passing came after a brief, serious illness and we are heartbroken.

Left to mourn are her father Terry Matheson of Saskatoon; her sister Suzanne Matheson (Matthew Mitchell), beloved nephew James Mitchell, and her feisty 18 year-old cat Imp, to whom she was devoted, of Buffalo, NY; Aunt Karen (George), and cousins Nikki Lopez, Chelsea (Ryan Huelsemann) of Los Angeles. She is predeceased by her mother, Pat Matheson, Grandmother Ruth Matheson from Winnipeg, and Aunts Nancy and Cheryl Smith of Los Angeles. She had wonderful friends in Saskatoon, Toronto, and Niagara. We will all miss her terribly.

Lesley was born in Saskatoon. She attended Aden Bowman Collegiate and the University of Saskatchewan. She later completed a Masters degree in English literature from the University of Victoria, and a Public Relations Diploma from Centennial College in Toronto. She was gifted–a talented writer, irreverent, funny, and a joyful, lively presence. She loved music–played the celtic harp, and trained vocally in her younger years. As a young adult, this grew into a love of attending live music and festivals including Coachella, Reading, Glastonbury (each several times!). This love of music brought her to London, UK where she resided for several years and allowed her to travel widely throughout Europe with some of her closest friends. Her travels also took her to South and Central America. She hiked the full Inca Trail, and sailed to the Galapagos Islands! She was loved by us all and we celebrate her strengths and are deeply proud of the person she had become.

These qualities, along with her infectious sense of humour, and kindness made Lesley so unforgettable to all who knew her. We love you with all our heart and hope you are at peace in the great mystery beyond.

We are forever grateful, and Lesley will be forever missed.
