DESJARDINS, Marie (nee Massue) (1924-2022) - We are saddened and extremely heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, with her son at her side, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on July 18, 2022 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Jean Racette of Montreal, QC and the late Jacques Desjardins of Niagara Falls, ON. Loving mother of Elaine de T. Racette (Leonard Serafini) and Louis Racette. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Frederick Genet (Rowena Franklin), their twins Maxwell and Sebastien; Jonathan Serafini; Alexandra Serafini, her children Olivia and Vincent Hearn. Marie is also survived by her younger sister Claire Boulva, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is remembered fondly by her friends Caroline Payne and Carmen Sigouin-Eyskoot. The family wishes to thank the doctors and the nursing staff of the Greater Niagara General Hospital for the care they provided to our Mom in her moments of need. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Friday August 5, 2022 from 11 am to 1 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of Marie and Jacques' lives will be held at 1 pm at the funeral home. The Rite of Committal will follow at Stamford Green Heritage Columbarium.
