Mario Vetrone

VETRONE, Mario - Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday July 20, 2025 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of 65 years to Lina Vetrone (nee D'Aloia). Cherished father of Rino (Lina) Vetrone, Loreto (Cindy) Vetrone and Mary (Dino) D'Amico. Devoted and proud nonno of Lucas Vetrone, Julian Vetrone, Christian Vetrone, Jordan Vetrone, Julia (Michael) Gasnik, Nicholas Vetrone, Jessie D'Amico and Ashley D'Amico. Loving bisnonno of Callum, and Quincy.  Mario will be deeply missed by his siblings Guida (late Flaviano) Plenzick, Assunta (late Angelo) Romaniello, Vincenzo (Guida) Vetrone, Tony (Carmela) Vetrone, Lydia (Giuseppe) Racanelli and sister in-law Teresa Vetrone. Predeceased by his parents Pellegrino and Maria (nee Leone) Vetrone and siblings Gerarda (Angelo) Abate, Emidio Vetrone and Carmen Vetrone. Mario was truly one of a kind, when he was born he broke the mould. Full of life, full of laughter and always the life of the party, he had a way of lighting up every room he entered. He loved his family fiercely. Friends, food, music dancing these were the pillars of his world and he shared them all with the people he loved. He was a proud supporter of the Napoli soccer team and loved Montreal Canadians but his true happiness came from his family especially his grandchildren and great grandkids. His face would light up the moment they walked into the room. Mario was a gifted chef who loved to cook and entertain. He also wore the unofficial title of 'family barber' keeping everyone's hair trimmed with care. For many years, he worked as a barber for many years and with the Niagara Parks Commission as a groundskeepers. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday July 23, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will follow at 8 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
