Michele 'Mike' LaPenna

LAPENNA, Michele "Mike" - Passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday January 4, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of 61 years to Lucia "Lucy" LaPenna (Zappitelli). Dearly loved father of Antonette "Toni" (Ken Wedlake) Tiraborelli, Dolores (Michael) Romanuk, Frank (Cathy) LaPenna, Johnny (Jocelyne) LaPenna and Albert (Divya) LaPenna. Cherished Papa of Michelle, Nicole, Jennifer, Scott, Dale (Tiffany), Danielle, Timothy, Michael, Anthony, Johnny, Frankie, Sonya, Monica and Aria and great-grandfather of Donovan and Charlee. Dear brother of Lucy Golfi and brother-in-law of Tony (Connie) Zappitelli, Nick (Assunta) Zappitelli, Luisa Zappitelli and Domenic Palmieri. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mr. LaPenna had been a longtime, valued employee of the Norton Company, retiring after 35 years of service. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Hennepin Council # 1652. In his retirement he owned several businesses with his family but he especially enjoyed operating his parking lot on Victoria Avenue where his many friends would visit him regularly. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Sunday 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church.
