Nancy was born with a generous heart, a fearless spirit, and a gift for making everyone around her feel welcome. She was the beloved wife of Alexander Trent, whom she married on October 18, 1952, beginning a partnership that spanned more than seven decades. Together they built a family rooted in love, kindness, and unwavering support.
Nancy was the devoted mother of Judy Trent and was predeceased by her son, Michael Trent (Taumeca Trent). She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and great grandmother to one great grandchild, each of whom was deeply loved and forever shaped by her encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love.
To know Nancy was to know someone who lived life fully. She was kind, thoughtful, outgoing, brave, supportive, confident, and wonderfully sassy. She had an infectious laugh, a quick wit, and a remarkable ability to make every gathering more fun simply by being there.
Nancy loved a good card game and firmly believed there were "no friends in cards." Whether playing 65 or Pass the Aces, she delighted in winning your nickels and celebrating with her unmistakable cackle. She also dedicated countless hours to volunteering in her community, quietly giving her time and energy to make life better for others. Her generosity and willingness to help left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Nancy loved entering contests of every kind and believed that every ballot was worth a chance. She often entered on behalf of her family and friends, finding just as much joy in seeing someone else win as she did herself. It was one of the many little ways she showed how much she cared.
Above all else, Nancy made people feel loved. Her hugs, conversations, words of encouragement, and steadfast belief in those around her became gifts that her family and friends will carry with them forever. She taught resilience without preaching it, generosity without expecting recognition, and the importance of showing up for the people you love.
Nancy leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply but who are forever grateful for the example she set. Her legacy lives on through the lessons she taught, the laughter she shared, the traditions she created, and the countless memories she leaves in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
She will be loved always, missed beyond measure, and remembered forever.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Nancy's memory, honouring her lifelong spirit of generosity and giving.
