Peter Damore

DAMORE, Peter Paul - Peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday August 29th, 2016 at the age of 91 Peter passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Predeceased by his loving wife Cicely “Betty” Birchnall (1982). Loving father of Paul (Sandra), Annalea (Joe Matthews) of Niagara Falls, and Julie (James Graham) of Midway, British Columbia. Peter is also survived by his loving sisters, Rose Kerrio and Theresa “Bunny” McMahon of Niagara Falls and many nieces and nephews in the Damore, Kerrio, Vescio, McMahon, Goyetche, Birchnall and Gascoigne families. Peter was the proud grandfather of Cassandra (Enrique Dickenson), Mark (Valeria) Damore and Kyle Chow as well as 3 Great-Grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Peter (2016), brothers Ernie (2000), Albert (2012) and his sister, Reta Vescio (1958). Peter was the son of Jerome Damore and Susanna Quagliarello. Well known and respected in the local construction industry he operated the family business, Damore Brothers Construction for many years and later Peter Damore Construction Limited. Known by many as “Uncle Pete” or “Pedo”, Peter was a man whose word was his bond. He lived a long life and was known for his unending work ethic, his bright cheery smile, and his firm handshake. Peter will be missed by his long time close friend Sam Kitson as well as a myriad of friends of all ages and from all walks of life. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will tale place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Peter donations in lieu of flowers to Wellspring Niagara would be appreciated by his family.
