MURRAY, Richard 'Dee' - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday January 15, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Joanne Murray (McGrew-Newell), dear father of Jodi Skinner of Buffalo and loving grandpa of Josephine Skinner. Sadly missed by his in-laws Gerry Knechtel and Marlene (Mills) and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, members of the McGrew-Newell family and many friends. Predeceased by his parents James Murray and Grace (nee Rysdale), and his beloved first wife of 55 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' Murray (nee Mills) (2012). Richard was a graduate of NFCVI and a skilled hockey player as a student and continued to play on teams for many years. He graduated from Ryerson Institute of Technology and spent most of his career as a teacher at Thorold High. Following his retirement, Richard spent many years lovingly caring for his mother and first wife. He was an avid supporter of Toronto SickKids hospital, as he had undergone many extensive surgeries there as a child. At his request, cremation has taken place.
