Rodger Cameron Crawford

Rodger passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, following a short battle with cancer.

Rodger was married to the love of his life, Pierrette (Pat), for 46 wonderful years. He will be deeply missed by his wife and his two step-sons, Allan Cousineau (Suzanne) and Kym Cousineau (Lia). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Sean, Douglas, and Mackenzie Cousineau, Jamelie and Joshua Taylor, and was predeceased by Colin Cousineau and Brendan Taylor. Rodger was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, who brought him much joy.

He will be fondly remembered by his loving niece, Lisa Martino (Anthony), his brother, Douglas Crawford, and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Born in Fairlie, Scotland, Rodger proudly made Canada his home. Trained as an electrician, he built a long and rewarding career with Ontario Paper in Thorold, where he worked for more than 30 years. Throughout those years, he formed many lasting friendships that meant a great deal to him.

Rodger had a zest for life and a competitive spirit that extended well beyond his working years. An accomplished darts player, he travelled throughout North America competing in tournaments and making memories along the way. He also had a true passion for golf and spent countless happy days on the course with family and friends. A remarkable golfer, Rodger achieved 15 holes-in-one during his lifetime, an accomplishment that was a source of great pride. He was also an avid Manchester United fan.

Those who knew Rodger will remember his love of family and friendships, his competitive nature, and his unique sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rodger leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

A Celebration of Rodger’s Life will be held on his birthday, September 9th, with details to follow.
