Rosaria Gallo

GALLO, Rosaria - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Meadows of Dorchester on Friday September 15, 2017 at the age of 99.  Beloved wife of the late Giovanni Gallo (1967).  Cherished mother of Natale (the late Maria), Agostino (Rose), Frank (Maria), Joe (Maria) and Tony (Susan).  Loving Nonna of Giovanna, Antonio, Daniela (Jeff) Hershberg, John (Jenna), Giovanni (Tera), Michael, Francesco, Roberto, Adriana (Iavor Perduhov), Giananthony, the late Robert, Sabrina, and Antonio and Bisnonna of Francesca, Aria, Briana and Bennett. Dear sister of Agostino (Giuseppina) Stranges, Maria ( the late Michele) Folino, Rosa ( the late Giovanni) Folino, Giovanna (Giuseppe) Gigliotti, Christina (the late Angelo) Boncore and the late Antonio (the late Maria) Stranges.  She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Acqua Fredda, Catanzaro, Italy, Rosaria moved to Platania, Italy after her marriage to Giovanni in 1942.  In 1967, after the death of her beloved husband, she moved to Niagara Falls with 4 of her sons.  She worked at the St. David's Canning Factory, as well as the Alamo Restaurant in Niagara Falls.  Mrs. Gallo was a devoted parishioner of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, and later attended Our Lady of the Scapular Church.  Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at 8:30 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Scapular Church.  The Rite of Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum.  In memory of Mrs. Gallo, donations to Operation Smile would be appreciated by her family.
