Samuel 'Sam' Sawchuk

SAWCHUK, Samuel 'Sam' - Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday October 5, 2014 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 34 years to Betty Sawchuk. Loving father of Dr. Sandi Sawchuk (Mark), Steve Sawchuk, Sharon Anderchek, Sam Jr. (Sue), Tom (Louise) McDougall, Kari Ann (Don) Laslo and Steve McDougall. Cherished grandfather of Derek (Jen) Clendening, Nicole McDougall, Patricia McDougall (Corey), Stephanie Farquharson (Jeff), Steve Farquharson (Kaley), Jonathan Laslo, Allison Strauss, Dana Anderchek and Owen Anderchek and great-grandfather of five. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Sam and Mary Sawchuk, his beloved daughter Linda McDougall,sisters Vera (Joe) DelVecchio and Doris (Jim) Guthrie. Cremation has taken place with inurnment at a later date in Fairview Cemetery Columbarium. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St., visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
