Soroor Mofid passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Mohsen, and her devoted son, Keyvan. Her memory will be carried by her children: Kamran (Annie), Kambiz (Gina), Kiyan (Sasan), and Kamyar (Dagny).
She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Kevin (Sarah), Paul (Katie), Layla (Matt), Christina (Niall), Michael (Neetasha), Sheida (Steven), Darius, and Jasmine.
She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren: Isabel, Ivy, Robyn, Poppy, Aria, Teo, Micah, Lucy, Charlie, Mira, Enzo, Ariana, and Elise, as well as by her extended family and many dear friends in Canada, Iran, United States, and the United Kingdom.
Affectionately known as Mamanjoon, she moved through life with strength, determination, and independence. During her years in Niagara Falls, she could often be seen walking to her favourite coffee shops and grocery stores. Rain, snow, or wind could not keep her home; to Mamanjoon, there was no such thing as bad weather.
She expressed her love through every dish she prepared and was happiest when her family gathered in her home. Her tahchin was more than a favourite dish—it was memory and home itself, loved by generation after generation.
In the final years of her life, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter and son-in-law, as well as by her devoted caregiver, Sanam, in Richmond Hill.
Mamanjoon left this world wrapped in the same love she had spent a lifetime giving. She leaves behind a family bound together by that love, and a legacy of resilience and strength that will live on in all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends at Patterson Funeral Home, 6062 Main Street, on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., with a service of celebration at 1 p.m. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
