Valerie Watson

WATSON, Mary 'Valerie', BA (Hons.), BEd, M.Ed. - Passed away after a courageous battle with acute leukemia, surrounded by her loving family, at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday July 30, 2021. Cherished sister of Robin (Anne) Watson, Diane Dixon and sister-in-law of Sandra Watson. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews; Robbie (Tricia) Watson, Brian Watson (Angela Smith), Keaton (Shiva) Dixon, John Jr. (Shelley) Watson, Leah Watson (Ryan Wills) and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her parents John Watson and Mary (nee Gregus) and brother John Watson. She was an avid artist who shared her passion with her students as an educator with the District School Board of Niagara, retiring from AN Myer. Valerie was an active parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, and will be fondly remembered by many as a very kind soul. Respecting the restrictions of COVID-19, including the requirement for face coverings and maximum occupancy levels, friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 am at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Valerie, memorial contributions may be made to The Carmelite Missions or The Niagara Health Foundation (Walker Family Cancer Centre), and would be appreciated by her family.
