John Sobczak

Niantic- John Sobczak Jr., 52, A long time resident of 28 Crossley passed away losing a hard fought battle to cancer after a short seven week struggle. At his side were loyal family members and dedicated friends.

Born November 20 1957, New London, John spent a good portion of his childhood in Chesterfield CT before taking residence in Niantic

At an early age John married his beautiful wife, Kim and shortly after adopted his handsome slender son James which graced John with one charismatic grandson, Damion.

John made a career in the cable television field in which he exceeded the normal by obtaining over twenty five different certification diplomas and excelling to the top of his class.

Anyone who has had the pleasure and honor to meet and befriend him knew him to be a selfless family man who always provided the very best for the ones he loved. He enjoyed boat rides with the family, riding his Harley, cooking and most of all making you laugh with some form of unexpected joke and unusual humor. He leaves behind a loving family and saddened friends that will cherish his memory and hold him close by telling many of the millions of “remember when “stories. Upon Johns diagnosis, the family arranged a benefit in his honor in attempts to uphold the family’s home. With this said we are holding this event at …Stashs Café New London CT, September 18th at 2pm. Join us in celebrating Johns life as we come together to show love and respect for the sobczak family.
