

Dr. Kramm was born on May 22, 1921 in Fall River, MA the son of Hugo and Rose Kramm. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII assigned to the First Marine Division. He served in the Pacific Theatre and saw action in Guadalcanal, Okinawa, and China. Later in life he served as an Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Surgeon in New Orleans and New London. He married Pauline Pregent in Albany, NY on April 15, 1950. She predeceased hin in April of 2009. He did his pre-med studies at University of Minnesota then onto Albany Medical School graduating in 1951.He opened his office for the practice of General Medicine in Niantic in 1954. In the 50 years he practiced medicine he never turned away a patient due to their inability to pay. All physicians are required to take the hyppocratic Oath...he lived that oath. He retired and closed his practice in 1988. Dr. Kramm was proudly inducted into the East Lyme High School Hall of Fame for his 17 years of service as the team physician. He also served many years as the Commodore of the Smith Cove Yacht Club. He was a proud member of the VFW and the American Legion in Niantic.
Dr. Kramm is survived by his five sons, William Kramm and his wife Gwen of SC, Mike Kramm and his wife Sue of NM, Cliff Kramm of East Lyme, Paul Kramm and his fiance Carmen of Niantic, and Mark Kramm and his wife Bonnie of Old Lyme, his two granddaughters Hanna and Emily Kramm, and his two brothers Hugo Kramm of Albany, NY and Paul of Astoria, NY.
Service will private at the convenience of the family. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Niantic is handling the arrangements.
