Carol Calecas Ackerman

Carol Ackerman passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 67. A native of Harahan, Louisiana and a resident of Destrehan, Louisiana for the past 40 years. Beloved wife of Mickey Ackerman for 50 years of sacred marriage. Loving mother of Kendra Ackerman, Annie Lemoine (Johnny), Steve Morris (Billie) and the late Rhonda Ackerman. Devoted grandmother of Ashlyn Lemoine, Ariel and Mason Morris. Daughter of the late Hazel and Sherman Pitts and John Calecas Sr. Sister of John Calecas Jr. (Dot). Also survived by her extended family, Carla Langley and Hannah McDuffie, a nephew, Kevin Calecas (Trish), other relatives and many friends. Carol was active with her husband in the family business, Riverside Auto Parts and a former employee of the City of Kenner. She will be remembered, loved, and missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, on Monday April 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
