

Craig Brignac Sr., known as “Shorty” to all those who loved him, was born on August 7th, 1959 in Fort Benning, Georgia to his late parents Norris and Ruth Brignac. His supportive and loving upbringing laid the foundation for the beautiful life Shorty created. Shorty was ultimately called home on May 20, 2024 at the age of 64. Shorty’s journey has left an incredible mark in the hearts of all that knew him. Shorty is survived by the love of his life, Rose Mary Brady Brignac. Together they created a remarkable life with endless support, love, laughter, and happiness. Shorty’s love also extended to his children, Laci Whyte (Dameon), Craig Brignac, Jr. (Nicole), Travis Brignac (Sunshine), and Sara Brignac Anderson (Courtney) and 10 grandchildren, with one on the way. He is also survived by four brothers, one sister, and a host of nieces, nephews, and family members. To know Shorty was to know the love and pride he had for his children and grandchildren, as he took every opportunity to brag about all of their life events and the activities his grandchildren were participating in. His children and grandchildren carry his talents and caring heart in all that they do, ensuring his memory continues to live on.
Shorty’s life impacted countless others through his career and talents. Shorty dedicated many decades of his life to Turner Industries at Marathon Petroleum, as a Maintenance Supervisor. Dedicating so much of his life to the field, he knew the ins and outs of every aspect of his career, making him a role model to the individuals he worked with. One of his talents also included cooking. Shorty loved cooking and grilling for everyone, and he could make a delicious meal out of anything while he waited anxiously for your reaction after the first bite. His family loved gathering together and enjoying anything he made. Shorty was an avid sports fan including LSU, the Saints, the Pelicans, and the Cubs. Shorty ensured he never missed an LSU game, regardless of the sport. He always knew the schedule and watched all of the games, up until his last moments. Shorty’s biggest love and talent was his music. He discovered his passion for music in high school, alongside two of his closest lifelong friends. He was a singer, bass guitarist, and keyboardist in several local bands. Shorty reached so many people through his music and touched their lives during their biggest moments, including weddings, in church, at festivals, etc.
Shorty was a remarkable individual with a strong and fighting spirit, caring and compassionate personality, and a heart of gold. Shorty will be missed tremendously and all who knew him will be impacted by his legacy.
Private services will be held to celebrate his life and memories.
