

Dumas Vincent Hymel passed away at the age of 97 and a half (Born on July 19, 1918 - Died December 29,2015). He shared 72 blissful years of marriage with Rita Landeche Hymel. He is survived by seven children and their spouses: Kenneth J. Hymel and wife Judith, Ralph J. Hymel and wife Marilyn, James K. Hymel and wife Kathleen, Helen H. Banquer and husband Dennis, Judy M. Hymel, Clyde P. Hymel and fiancé Sara, and Theresa H. Naff and husband Samuel. Dumas is also the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren with one more on the way.
He was born on July 19, 1918 to his parents, Aubert and Odette Hymel. He will rejoin them in heaven along with his 6 brothers, 2 sisters and his daughter-in-law Valerie Hymel. He is survived by one sister Pauline Laurent, former daughter-in-law’s: Carol Hymel, Martha Hymel and Shirley Hymel, and many other family members and friends.
Dumas served in the United States Army from 1941 until 1946 as a Staff Sergeant. He continued his dedication to his country through his membership in the American Legion. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a wake on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, 821 Fourth St. Norco, La 70079, from 3:00PM till 6:00PM. Visitation will continue at Sacred Heart Church in Norco, La on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 9:00AM till 10:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM.
